The 2024 Irish Junior Surf Team travelled to Santa Cruz, Portugal on Monday in preparation for Eurosurf Junior taking place from the 18th to the 26th July. The event is expected to attract 15 to 20 surfing nations competing for European titles in U16 Girls & Boys Shortboard, U18 Girls & Boys Shortboard and U18 Girls & Boys Longboard
The Irish Surf Team is led by Manager, Gavin McCrea and Coaches, Maia Monaghan and Ollie O'Flaherty.
The team includes Akiya Moore, Sadie Shalloo, Evelyn Moore, Tom Murphy, Oscar Choo, Conor Moroney and Maria Bulter, who have previously represented Ireland at international surfing events including Eurosurf Junior 2022 and World Junior Surfing Championships 2024. New caps include Ruby Fanning, Caoimhe Skinner Syme, Joshua Karbus, Rory Murphy, Paraic McSharry and Sky Sacolax
Irish Head Judge, Tiernan McCrea has been selected to the judging panel for the event, joining top European and International judges.
The Opening Ceremony and Parade will take place on Firday evening, 19th. Competition will start at 7am on Friday 19th running to Grand Finals on Friday 26th July. The event will be live streamed https://eurosurfing.org/live . More information eurosurfing.org and https://www.oceanspirit.pt
